Posted September 22, 2017 · Report post I just started playing version 8.0C and had some questions regarding hidden chests. I played vanilla SMRGP dozens of times and recall a hidden missable chest in the castle of mushroom kingdom. I didn't find such a chest in this version of the game. My questions are these: Are there any permanently missable chests/ items/ equipment in v8? If that chest is no longer there, has it changed to another location/ have other hidden chests changed locations?
Posted September 22, 2017 · Report post To answer your first question, as far as I know, there are no missable chests/items/equipment in v8. However, there are certain pieces of equipment that you only get once, so don't throw them away or sell them unless you're SURE you'll never want it again. As far as where the hidden chests are, I'll just refer you to the following thread that ninjasdf was kind enough to bring back: http://ngplus.net/InsaneDifficultyArchive/www.insanedifficulty.com/board/indexab10.html?/topic/7319-the-ultimate-game-content-spoiler-q-a-thread-v80/

Posted September 23, 2017 · Report post I don't know if this is still a problem, but I think there was a missable hidden chest in Nimbus Palace that actually changes into a different hidden chest in the same spot after you beat Valentina. (Game glitches can be weird at times.) The hidden chest in the Mushroom Kingdom that was missable in the vanilla game was moved to a different spot in the room so you can still reach it later on. Posted May 22, 2018 · Report post So I was looking for chest number 52, and it seems pretty straightforward; go to the room with three doors in a row, find the chest in the top-left corner next to the bird cage... But it's visible when you enter the room. And when I checked beforehand, the guy says there's 9 chests left. And when I checked afterward, it still said 9. My only guess is that it might not be the right one, since the guide says a Frog Coin comes out even though it's actually a Flower. Otherwise, it might just be that this is the same thing with Chest 36, and it requires me to save Nimbus Land first so it can be in the right map. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Posted May 22, 2018 · Report post I had the same question during my speed run as I was highly confused lol.. You have to beat Valentina then that flower chest will be hidden and something new will pop out.

Posted June 9, 2018 (edited) · Report post So now that I've restarted this on Hard Mode, thought I could shed light on a couple things. For one, Chest 6, the one outside Daisy's Room, has an Ultra Shroom Shake-3 in it (since the guide on ID doesn't say what's inside it). And for another, you can jump ontop of it while it's still hidden. Awesome. Edited June 9, 2018 by F14m3rz
Posted June 21, 2018 · Report post @F14m3rz I can't thank you enough for these pics. This made getting the Lazy Shell all that much easier. The text from the guide can really do so much, these pics really help pinpoint where they are specifically, especially those moving NPC ones like the Monstro Town one and Mushroom Kingdom - Main Hall one.
