Tips for beating Dodo and Valentina in Nimbus Land??

Hi friends, I'm having a bitch of a time fighting these two in Nimbus Land. Does anyone have any pointers? I feel like the thing that kills me in the fight is Valentina's white hole attack and the fact that both Dodo and Valentina collectively have like 5 turns for attacks each round. I am using Bowser, Peach, and Mario and all are around level 62. Am I missing something? Is it possible to block the White Hole attack? Thanks!
