  1. Normal Tonberries have a 25% drop rate for tonberry dolls (regardless of item collector), but only if you have inventory space. You can find the lake guardians in the forest maze ("treasure" stump), tadpole pond (east), and bandit's way (at the very end). I don't remember which is which, though.
  2. There have been several closed alphas/betas leading up to v9 (originally v8.5). There are no plans to provide public links for them. I know it's been a long time and everyone really wants to get their hands on the new version, but I ask that you wait just a little longer. Darkkefka is is very close to having the content version of v9 finished (hard mode will be later).
  3. I improved a bunch of the routing from the previous Dark Star route, did things significantly faster, and managed to get a time of 3:03:57! Check it out: *Including credits, which adds about 11 and a half minutes in vanilla.
  4. Nope. If you want to look at level ups and such, you'll have to use a hex editor.
  5. No, this is completely unrelated to version 9. Follow the instructions in the download section.
  6. Wolfblade and I have been speedrunning SMRPGA, but the version we've been using wasn't easily available. That's now changed! You can find the version we use here: The more the merrier, I say. Wolfblade and I have done quite a bit of research coming up with our routes, so feel free to ask us if you have any questions!
  7. There's no rules to speak of (it's Any%). Wolfblade and I run this on the SNES classic, but if varying emulators become an issue, we can figure it out later. Timing starts when you select DONE for name select and ends when the black border appears after Smithy explodes.

Super Mario RPG: Armegeddon is a difficulty and content mod for Super Mario RPG. It rebalances the entire game and adds a lot more post-game content, such as more FF bosses, two boss rushes, and even some special guests! This is for betas and other unofficial releases that happen to be faster than the official releases. This is strictly for those wishing to speedrun the game. For first-timers, play the content mode. Patches should only be applied to the legally obtained 1999 US version of the ROM. Compatible with SNES9x 1.53+.
  9. Depends. I'm not sure about the beta, but a lot of the superbosses spam Meteor. Aside from that, it's just a matter of beating them. What did you have in mind?
  10. Alright, so after watching WolfBlade speedrun this a few times, I decided to join in on the fun. I took his original route and rerouted it to save a ton of time and be more consistent. At first I tried doing this with v8 final, but that version is much, much slower, so now I'm doing the beta as well. Here's my opening entry of 3:10:53: This run had so many mistakes. I look forward to wolfblade beating this almost immediately now that he can see the full route.

  12. Nice! You've gotten a lot better at doing the max jump, and it also looks like you've figured out some faster strats (like Smithy). I've got a tip for you that might help you reach that 3:20. Several of the later bosses have "lives". What this means is you'll reduce their HP to zero, then they'll heal back to full. Once you do this enough times, they'll be defeated. The important thing to note here is that damage from one life doesn't carry over to the next. In other words, for a fight like Smithy, you should be aiming to do 30,000 HP four (?) times, not 120,000 total damage. Keeping this in mind should help you avoid wasting turns doing an attack when the next character would take the life either way. Good luck getting to 3:20!

Super Mario RPG: Armegeddon is a difficulty and content mod for Super Mario RPG. It rebalances the entire game and adds a lot more post-game content, such as more FF bosses, two boss rushes, and even some special guests! This hack assumes you're VERY familiar with the original game. The game starts off relatively simple, but after Moleville the difficulty picks up. Looking for a difficult Mario RPG hack? This is it! Patches should only be applied to the legally obtained 1999 US version of the ROM. Compatible with SNES9x 1.53+.
  14. After entering the password, you have to talk to the object next to the door. Doing so should cause the door to open if you've entered Ha-ts-un-e-Mi-ku.
  15. In case anyone is checking this but hasn't checked out the stream, DK is currently testing all the superbosses. Almost there!
  16. v8 beta* Still, grats on the new PB!
  17. Hope you feel better soon! Don't overwork yourself for our sake. Health before wealth!
  18. You need to use Fertilizer on the flower.
  19. In v8, I grinded galaxy coins from The Master. Whether or not that's the best method, I couldn't say.
  20. The likely cause of this is a memory leak on one of the attacks being used. To avoid this, end battles more quickly, without using those attacks (I forget which ones).
  21. Everything I touch results in the monsters getting rebalanced... Looking forward to the live stream!
  22. Well, the beta test is still ongoing, so the release won't be for a while.
  23. Forgetting account info in never fun... I remember having to create a new ID account because of it At any rate, I'm just glad to see you back!
  24. Regarding Ultima, either you perfectly time it or you don't deal 9999.
  25. P.P.S.: You're talking to the reason those changes exist in v9.
