  1. Honest opinion please

And here I thought I was a compulsive power-leveler...but lvl 10-15 in the first cave? wowza
  2. Honest opinion please

In my experience RotDS is a TON more difficult and has a lot of that difficulty built into enemy stats and the skill/character changes. BNW changes a lot of the original, but if you've played the original and know how to use those systems well, adapting to BNW will be pretty straight forward if you pay attention (BTB and Syn do a good job of documenting changes in-game and in the stuff you get with the hack so you know what you're getting into). Both hacks are very well-done in terms of how much they overhaul, but I just could not get into RotDS because of the traditional hard-type aspects of it. So, it really depends on your tolerance for the presence of those hard-type aspects--if you dislike them (as I do), go with BNW, but if you like that kind of thing, RotDS will probably be more your cup of tea. Both hacks are good and worth your time though.
  3. 1.9 Release Bug Reporting Thread

So, this may have been pointed out already, but in the coin flip scene with Setzer Edgar and Celes stay red even after Setzer makes the offer of help for Celes as his mistress. Obviously they turn red in embarrassment when he suggests it....but never turn back until after the scene. I don't remember if this was the case in apst versions, but it just seemed odd here. Also, I may have missed this in the changelog but is Locke supposed to get free turns when stealing? Every time he successfully steals something, he immediately gets another action--which is great for farming steals, but I don't know if you intended it or not. I'm just about at Thamasa, so still a long way to go, but 1.9 has been just as good as 1.7 (the last version I played).
  4. It's been over a year since I popped in on the BNW board, and this is really still being complained about? I think people forget all the cringe-worthy jokes from the original script ("I thought he just wandered away from his gym" or literally any of Ultros' lines anyone?)--I don't think that took away from the original at all, and the BNW script I think keeps with that. Hell, I prefer Clean New World almost completely because of the cheesy cover-ups for the swearing ("Great googly-moogly" will always make me chuckle, but I was a bit sad to see they took out "I will make sweet love to you with a rake" from when you ask to drive the airship). It's all in good fun, and I never thought it was too much compared to the original at all.
