On behalf of all management: Not in a million years. You do not own anything you say and/or put on this site. Fuck off.
  2. There goes the neighborhood

Oh snap! Ye olde guard, assemble! Now we just need philsov...
  3. Strange forum bug

Ninja's been informed. I assume he'll check it out either tonight or tomorrow afternoon. Good catch!
  4. Good Morning or Whatever!

We need to get Brett to come back, but somehow I don't think so with those two new kittens.
  5. So as someone who hasn't played since 1.6, kindly take this as a review from someone who is not wholly familiar with BNW. I just finished the Sealed Gate, and so far everything seems more or less pretty solid. I remember feeling really frustrated in the early game of 1.6 and I just don't feel that here. It's not easy enough where I can just attack through it with no problems, but not difficult enough that I don't want to start it up. Regarding each individual character, it's important to note that, as I stated above, I'm speaking to purely how each character performs in the WoB. Celes felt largely useless outside of Cure, Slow, and Runic in the IMTRF. There were a lot of situations where I just didn't know what to do with her because there was nothing to Runic and no point in using Cure because everyone was topped off. Edgar was awesome in the beginning, but started to taper off just after Zozo and at this point his primary use feels like Remedy and Slow. Unless of course I want to slap a Dragoon Seal on him and turn him into a Dragoon, which I did. Sabin, full disclosure, I stopped using after his scenario, but it wasn't because he was bad. Rather, his function at the time -- Sap setter, tons of damage, counterattack -- were just filled better by other characters like Cyan and Locke. Locke is someone I was a fan of originally but is kind of tapering off now. He's fast, he has Life, he has Cure 2, which makes him a pretty decent healer at the moment. He can also get in your face and deal some damage, but he's still no Cyan or Sabin, even with straight Ramuh levels, which relegates him to healer duty. Not sure how I feel about this. Cyan is a god among men. He has Cure 2, Life, Regen, deals tons of damage, has a really high counter rate, has a move that heals him and restores his MP as well as setting Sap, as well as an AoE and really just a kit that can deal with any situation. He has been my MVP since I got him because he's just so good. No matter what the situation, he has an answer for it due to the versatility of his Bushido and Spell kit and the sheer magnitude of his damage. Terra currently feels like Celes without Runic, which definitely doesn't do her any favors. Right now she feels like Celes only worse. Gau I really haven't used much, but he was a champion in his scenario, so there's that! Something else I want to mention, both from my own experiences and from looking at the character breakdowns, is that it feels like offensive magic just doesn't matter outside of elemental sniping. Almost every offensive build you see is hard up for Vigor because it's physical. It feels like there's no real diversity there. And maybe this is just my own ignorance talking, maybe the WoR will be completely different than I'm imagining it and I'll be completely wrong. But from what I've seen, I kind of doubt it. All in all, it's been a blast so far, and later on today I'll (hopefully) be finishing up the WoB. One last thing I want to mention, particularly in regards to Cyan, just to drive home my point that he is a god among men: in the Sealed Gate cave, he got hit by Discord. Discord is Bserk and Muddle. Cyan had the Kazekiri. It procced. Over 1000 damage to everyone. Cyan had the highest HP at 800 and some change. I was laughing for about 5 minutes.
  6. Discord Shenanigans

    You guys know the drill.
  7. So, as those of you in Discord may know, @Kjata has begun work on a new Final Fantasy IX mod. Right now it's kind of a brainchild, but we hope to have something out within a few months. Since I don't start work for a few weeks, I'll be helping him out with some of the legwork. Some ideas we've already been looking at: Rework damage curve Rework level curve Rework passive skills Remove fixed damage abilities If you've got any ideas, feel free to post them in this thread! Though we may not use everything, we will take it into consideration if we feel it's a good idea!
  8. Ever wanted to hack a game, but wonder if there's already an editor in existence for your game of choice? Do you suck ass at Google? If you said yes to both of these questions, you are who this thread exists for! A while back, I wrote an article titled "Got A Question About Modding? This is for you.", and in it I took a few minutes to do some research and came up with a small list of ROM editors. Now, being that that article is on the second page, it's a safe bet that it doesn't get a lot of traffic. I think the list seen in said article is a pretty valuable piece of information, so I had the idea to make a thread just for said list. Pokemon Editors PokeRed and PokeCrystal [Credit: RavenOfRazgriz] Chrono Trigger Editor [Credit: Madsiur] Final Fantasy I, II, IV (Advance only), V (Advance as well), VI, Tactics Editors [Credit: Madsiur] Final Fantasy VII Editors [Credit: Sega Chief] Final Fantasy VIII Editor [Credit: Sega Chief] Final Fantasy IX Editor [Credit: Sega Chief] Paper Mario Editor [Credit: Lolwayup] Super Mario Bros 3 Editors [Credit: Lolwayup] Mega Man X Editor [Credit: Hart-Hunt] Final Fantasy VI Editors [Credit: Lockirby] Earthbound Editors [Credit: Bluerobin427] Breath Of Fire III Editor [Credit: XtraT] Alternate source for even more editors!: This list is ongoing. If anyone knows of any that aren't on this list, toss me a link and after I confirm it, I'll update the list. When you make a contribution, after I add it I'm going to spoiler tag your post so the thread is easier to parse through.
  9. I literally went back and checked the posts. We don't downvote for dissenting opinions, but rather for the content of said posts. That "I said it's my opinion" post deserved to be downvoted into oblivion. Your posts that were downvoted had poor points, and thus poor content. Stop pitching a fit over it. 5 negative rep is very easily regained. It's not that serious. Clearly you do care because you keep responding. This is the second time you've said that.
  10. No, you got downvoted because your logic is flawed, your points were silly, and when pressed, you tried to defend yourself by saying it was an "opinion." Who cares if it's an opinion? We know it's an opinion; that does not mean you shouldn't be defending it. It being an opinion and not fact does not save it from being criticized, which you took to poorly. No, you were warned because you were one step away from insulting someone over a simple disagreement in game tactics. And it wasn't even a warning, it was me asking you to take a step back. Your negative rep came from three posts before this one where you threw your hands up like an infant and stormed out. You're not being bullied. If you don't want to be treated like a child, then stop acting like one.
  11. So let me just say that none of these things are actually a problem with 1.3. As a matter of fact, I would argue that the AI uses the new abilities better than players generally will. The amount of times I've seen someone caught off guard and got three of their units wrecked with a Chain Lightning is staggering. The biggest problems with 1.3 are what Quad and Emmy have mentioned. Also I'd like to point out something: it seems you're trying to make sport out of Augestein by insinuating he's a bad player. You're gonna have a bad time with that, bud. You seem to be getting more aggressive as more and more people disagree with you. I would caution you against this, as this thread is going to end badly for you. Nothing being said here is personal, but it looks like you're taking it that way with how defensive you're getting. Take a step back, my dude. It's nothing to get heated over.
  12. Nowea's Computerthon Fundraiser!

My name is Kyrios and I approve this message.
  13. So, I got my hands on a really awesome game called Pokemon Insurgence. It's a fangame which you can find here. I would get the torrent and not the installer if I were you; it's a lot faster. Anyway, this game takes place in a new region with new versions of certain pokemon called Delta Pokemon. Delta pokemon have different typage, different movesets, but the same base stats as their vanilla counterparts. This game also features new Mega Evolutions, and follows the main series mechanics up to and including Gen VI (X/Y). Anyway, I'm not gonna go too in depth (I may do a review on it for the front page later, who knows?), but I'm going to be doing what I'm calling a Delta/Armor run of the game. So, in addition to the delta pokemon, you also have different armors for certain pokemon that alter their stats a bit, and make them look different. For instance, take a look at Shiny Tyranitar with his armor. Sexy as hell, right? Right. So, for this challenge, as the name implies I'm going to be using only delta and armored pokemon. The rule is that I have to stick to this team no matter what, and the armored pokemon cannot remove their armor for any reason. Now, you may ask, why would you want to? Well, the simple answer is because that takes up an item slot that may be put to better use with a different item in certain circumstances, such as a mega stone. For those of you worried about difficulty, have no fear, I'll be playing on hard mode. Delta pokemon in this game can be strong, but they are by no means overpowered as you might expect. Full disclosure though, I will be using debug mode to create my starters. Hard mode assumes max IVs/EVs, so I'll be doing the same. It also softcaps your level at certain points so you can't outgrind content, which is really cool. The limit for my creating starters is that I'm not allowed to give them any items aside from armors (this means mega stones I have to get naturally through the story), and they cannot have moves they're unable to learn. This means that I may give some of them one of their egg moves, for instance Dragon Dance on Larvitar. This was more just an introduction post; next post is gonna be the actual beginning of the challenge! Let's go!
  14. Pokemon Insurgence Delta/Armor Run

The level cap raised. Shit just got real.
  15. Pokemon Insurgence Delta/Armor Run

HNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG Boutta fuck this dude up, fam. Next up is Ultira Town.
  16. Pokemon Insurgence Delta/Armor Run

So I made some progress. I don't really remember exactly what changed since last time BUT after facing a big baddie My party looks like this. Now I have to fight a Mega Legendary. So, there's that. More to come. I'll put the fight in spoilers.
  17. Hacking Pokemon Insurgence?

I can tell you right now that a Hard mode playthrough with 0exp is literally impossible without extreme amounts of RNG fuckery.
  18. Where are the forum rules

Do you not know how an IP address works? I can see your entire IP. I blanked it out in the screenshot I posted, you ignoramus. Part of me wants to ban you, but you putting your idiocy on display like this is far more entertaining.
  19. There were a few members of the staff who wanted me to do just that.
  20. @JKnox This is your one and only warning: Creating a dummy account for the purposes of double dipping on neg rep will land you in a place you do not want to be. The rep you have changed with this alternate account will be reverted and the account will be banned. Next time it won't be just the alternate account. Edit: I also unlocked the thread for the sake of dialogue.
  21. That's exactly what it is. There's a learning curve. Respecting the lock now.
  22. The quoting system is fine outside of mobile, where you can't move the quote boxes. It's a learning curve, though.
  23. I may or may not have confused you for the other guy.
  24. I'm not sure if that's his first post, but from ninjas tone I don't think it is. Even if it is, if you're toxic, we'll let you know. It's how we've always been. BTB let's other people bludgeon his disruptive members rather than do it himself. Sorry for the double post. The quote formatting is troublesome for editing on mobile.
