Mimes are suffering from the same issue as monks in that their lowered pa is basically double penalizing and I'll have to tweak both of their pa modifiers. Monks not mining accumulate was intended though. It being mimicked negated the charge time that was added to the original skill and could turn them into outright gods. I took away concentration as well. I'll reevaluate as I go through my own playthrough and welcome all feedback.

Dks have bad speed growths, so enemy Dks will probably be slower than intended, birthday point is to not train your way to a do and leave it there. There's a penalty for their awesomeness and that is intended to get you to use them sparingly. Their skillsets were buffed quite a bit. And surprise motherfuckers, they have shiridori, so they have a lot of stuff you can train. Their modifiers are god-like, so you can still bring em in when you need them. If enemy Dks end up being too much of a joke, i'll adjust them accordingly.

Oh, and to address the shiridori bomb I just laid, it works on attack command attacks only, no special skills, and i'm only running out as a test. If it's too exploitable, i'll take it away again.

So far Bio is pretty powerful so I've been using a Time Mage with Black Magic secondary to put pressure on groups.

I think my trouble started because of that Berserker at the Sand Rats Cellar. I leveled up enough to get 2 Monks with Chakra because Athiest prevents them from being affected by magic and they have way higher damage/move/speed than any of my dudes could deal out or take.

So because I ended up leveling there the Brigand's Den got out of control by level 16 due to the speed growths on Thieves as well as the +1 speed items.

Is there any options for a level 6 or lower character to shut down a Berserker or do you have to level to deal with them?

EDIT: Oh and Phoenix Down costing 600 is insane early game when you only have a couple for a whole match since Delita and Algus will spam them for any reason instead of using Chant. So to get alternative methods of ressing requires a decent investment investment in leveling the mages. If anything, maybe chant having a 100% of working would be a decent change. Chant is a much lower res than something like revive, and has a 1 panel range. Plus, it would not force you to level into White Mage (I didn't even have a White Mage by the time I got to the desert fight even though I had a Black Mage) for early game.

EDIT2: I guess I could just not give them items.

For the Berserker, remember that Berserk makes their AI stupid as hell. Put a Knight with Parry next to him, and he'll spend all his time attacking the Knight instead of your mages. Use Defend if your evasion isn't high enough.

stann's got it on the berserkers. The aim of the 1.3 game is to outsmart the AI and there's no AI dumber than something that is berserked. Evasion tanking is the way to go. And yes, they are all immune to status. Trick in this case is to keep the knights back since they're slower and less mobile while you take out the rest. I'll probably take it out of that fight next time anyway, though. Too many sprites on the map breaks it and it's not that that fight really needed either a boost or a nerf anyway.

And it's about time someone bitched about the new prices. That was actually part of the point. I've found that I'm almost always setting every guest up as something like a knight with item. That's boring as hell. Right now, on sand rats, I have delita as a knight with guts for tailwind and algus as a marksman with guts for the equipment breaks and chant. I really like having my guests actually be helpful and it's nice to see them actually be able to use their signature moves. It makes them go from a nuisance to something you can build a strategy around.

Anyway, I like it as-is. I want people to think twice before using the instant, ranged, 100% revive you get from a phoenix down. That item alone can be the reason to bring in the item skillset, and eventually it can become so automatic that it's barely worth thinking about throwing something else up there. Plus it'll make you appreciate the White Mage that much more when you unlock it.

So far it just means I run 2-3 support and spam the hell out of potions since those are cheap. White Mage is good but it takes a while to get to them without leveling so early on I do a 3 support one strategy.

I use a mage with two people blocking their flanks. One usually has Chakra Magic and the other with high evades and Item. It works well until you get to tiny maps like Brigand's Den with almost nowhere to move to.

Did you get to Brigand's Den yet?

Can't wait to play this. Should be interesting going in 100% blind, since I can't even remember most of the changed ability names, much less anything Doc did to it.

Welp, I just ran into a frustrating game freezing bug. I used Timed Strike with a basic Bowgun on a Squire in the Mandalia Plains first mission, and it crit. The crit caused the Squire to be knocked back next to a rock, and then Ramza's animations froze and I couldn't do anything but listen to the music and watch the characters' feet move.

Now I have to restart the mission even though it was almost over...

Weapon Strike abilities with ranged weapons have always been incredibly buggy. Marksman is just a nice ball of bugs waiting to happen.

Just finished up Thieves' Fort. Dealing with Miluda's dorks wasn't working out for me, so I just shot her with lightning until she died.

Electro shock therapy, hm? Seems legit.
