It's been so long since we've heard from you, Doc! What's happening?
1.7B-# LLG Run (also introduction)

I have some unfortunate news.
Erm, aside from the obvious infinite hiatus, of course.
My phone's free space was becoming dangerously finite, so I took the liberty of sorting my files around and purging the ones I no longer needed. No, I didn't accidentally delete anything important, I'm not that much of a stupid.
That being said, however, moving files around on phone is a finicky process. This is doubly true when files are linked to shortcuts, as anyone with a PC no doubt understands. Unfortunately, mobile shortcuts are pretty rigid and aren't the most lenient when you try and fuck with them.
To make a long and painful story short, all of my snes9x file shortcuts got broken, and the files that they directed to were corrupted. The Brave New World 1.7B-u .sfc file that I was playing my LLG on was one of the casualties of the Great Letha Mobile Purge.
So unfortunately, this is where the story of General Celes Chere the Indomitable ends. If it's any consolation, I managed to get ≈75% through Kaiser-D's HP reserves, so I'll consider that one a net victory. Funnily enough, Kaiser is one of the least RNG-dependent fights I've had. There are few damage ranges–in that all of his nonelemental attacks are guaranteed kills no matter how much bulk Celes has–and almost all of his elemental douchebaggery is mitigated through equipment, Rage, and the Legendary Multiguards. His physical counter is the only true dice roll in the fight regarding surviving, as Celes has only just enough physical bulk to survive all but the highest end of damage variance. A large portion of the fight involves blowing through Green Cherries to get Gau (and sometimes Gogo) into various Rages depending on Kaiser-D's current elemental weakness of choice, Strago using Blowfish and his elemental spells/Lore to hit for (relatively) massive damage because Strago is a fucking champion, and Celes facetanking Bonebreaks with about 12-14% mortality rate.
But alas, the file is pretty much unusable and definitely unloadable in its current state, so that's where the LLG must unfortunately come to a close. I got through 95% of the game's content at unit level 3 across the board (Yeti and Gogo notwithstanding), and I only had to resort to true RNG manipulation during one specific boss encounter (fuck 'em), to which fellow LLGer and LLGw/HFBall completionist Kain pulled out an RNG manipulation free defeat of said boss with clever use of Sabin and relics. To you, I will bow my head.
That won't be the end of my BNW challenge shenanigans, fuuuuuck no. I still need to complete the newest version (which is why I've yet to post my first character analysis entry, since I have to weigh in the esper equip bonuses and how they affect each character's roles in combat), and, well... let's just say I have plans to return to the wonderful world of the LLG once I complete my first 1.8.2 run.
Buckle up and strap in, ladies and gentlemen. The Doctor is in.

Most emulators that I know of put the savegame elsewhere and not in the ROM itself, so if you get a new patched ROM file and rename the saves (or ROM) to match it should use them properly. I have copies of the 1.7B-ag/ah files (not sure if you needed 1.7B-u specifically for something, which I don't have), so if your saves are intact and it didn't just fuck up everything in your emulator's directory then you might be able to salvage it.

I do have 1.7B-u, if that ends up helping. Just shoot me a PM so I'll see it quicker and I can upload it.
