By the way, I’m at Terra right now and having issues. I can get to Terra using almost all Celebi/Galaxy Star - I used one Chaos Grenade, 1/3 of a Kerocola, and 2/3 of a Shroom Shake. And I can get to the second phase halfway through my second Found Illusion, using only Celebi, the rest of the Kerocola, and maybe the rest of the Shroom Shake depending on how the hits go.

Problem is I don’t know when the second phase starts, so I get destroyed by Riot Blade. I know I have to be blocking then, but I don’t know how close I am to it. How many lives do I take until phase 2, and/or is there another way?

Just gotta get a rough idea of how much damage you're doing, and if you think you're close, don't let your last party member attack that turn.

Huh, guess her Black Hole/Riot Blade combos in phase 2 are triggered by lives and not turns. I thought it was turn count like Shadow Queen, so no wonder I kept guarding at the wrong time.

Don't feel too bad about having trouble with Rosalina in normal mode.  She's easily the hardest boss, even though you can use Found Illusion through the entire fight.

Nah, I didn't mean it negatively. More that I'm proud of what I was capable of doing and the awesome fights I had up till now, even if it ends up I can't hack it against her or Xion. (Though I haven't thrown in the towel just yet.) Thanks tho. :3

  3. Just finished doing Terra. And I'll admit, I played like a Queen Scrub. Awful, just awful. Kept miscounting the turns to Black Hole, making nervous, semi-optimal decisions, failing to block her neutrals, down to last can of frog soda, Black Hole probably next turn. I hail mary two Morning Stars off of Peach for a measly 10k a pop. Terra keels over.

    Pffffffooooooo~ @x@

And all I gotta ask is: will she drop another Paladin? +x+

    Perversely satisfying post-battle item screen.

  4. Yeah, I assumed it was just beating Smith, since the first thing I did was check that door and they definitely offered me Army. (Well, first first thing I did was check my Star Pieces screen to see if this mod was of the caliber I thought it was, and it totally is. :3)

It's unlikely, but did you beat Shadow Queen before getting 70 FP? I know beating her bumps 70 to 99, since I didn't know about Dark Dayzees when I beat her, but I was at least at 70 and had access to Armageddon already. But maybe if someone actually beats her before you ever get Daisy to buff your FP, you lock yourself out of the checkmark for Armageddon?

  5. You have to go into the Frog Coin shop and leave, (even without buying anything) then they'll prompt you to buy their Armageddon.

Beating them in a party is really easy. It's the same deal with Smithy and why I didn't notice he had a barrier. Yes she changes what element she's vulnerable to, but she's ALWAYS vulnerable to neutral magic. Geno Whirl is king here.

You can also do neutral physical damage off her physical card throw, physical generic energy balls, Sexy Dance L, Eerie Noise, Mamudoon, and Megidolaon, as long as that attack is the last thing she does in a turn. (Though it has to be neutral, they both heal off of any elemental damage on a neutral turn. Oh, and on the first turn, you can attack with anything, as long as she hasn't attacked herself. Until she does, she's a normal target.)

Single battle, you need to plan out your moves, but some characters are much much easier than others. Doing her early is practically impossible for some chars. As soon as you get the Pillar of Light from her sister, Liz can be beaten handily with Geno as long as you have enough 1UP Mushes. Just Geno Whirl like mad and Flurry/Flame when she does element attacks. Mario with the Soul Dew can pretty much spam Galaxy Blast and win. Mallow needs to be a little clever boy, Koopa too. Peach needs some physical attack since she has no neutral magic. Chaos Grenades help with good timing too.

  6. Yeah, I think I got her pretty early. She was one of the easier Square bosses.

I totally missed Penance, Shiva, and Rydia though. When Frogfucius said that "a mysterious woman froze the ice cave", I kept thinking he was referring to the "Mystery Girl" in Forest Maze. And then even though he kept saying it, I assumed because nothing was left, it was just default text, lol.

And because of not beating Shiva, he never told me what to do with the flower in Star Hill, (even though he had his second info slot empty...) leaving me to assume that flower door was post-Rosalina, so I went after her before that. smh (I also somehow totally forgot about the Magus/Schala fight, so I missed out on Peach's uber haste accessory for the whole post-game, as well as foolishly challenged Rosalina without it. orz)

But now it's down to the big 3. @x@

  7. Great, glad to hear it.

    Spoiler

With Soul Dew and the Iron Dukes (gives a solid defense boost), Mallow gets crazy good str and int. The Thunderstorm spell from Larxene is a strong aoe that also def downs every enemy, replacing both Chaos Grenades and Geno Whirl, (Soul Dew gives everyone a nat attack buff so it also replaces Geno Boost) and he also has Snowy as an alternate aoe for enemies that might be resistant to thunder. Coupled with Royal Guard, a weaker (that only heals status, not debuffs) but still 5-6k Group Therapy and Wishing Star, he also backs Peach up as a healer and lets you RG twice per turn if it comes to that.

Geno is still good, with both Choice Specs or Bombs Away, and I love the doll, but Mallow just can do it all all of a sudden

  8. What is your team, Mari/Peach/Koopa? Until just now where Mallow became op, I liked Mari/Peach/Geno for pretty much the entire game.

And yea, my guys are at ~8800 with apples. The rest is int for everyone, except Peach who has a smidge of atk/def.

When you level, some characters have bonuses at certain levels for more optimized min-maxing.

I think Bowser gets 108 hp instead of 7 at like 65, 75, and a few other levels. And then at like 90 or 95 the last levels to 100 are all 108 hp or 2 matk/2 mdef. So only grabbing the big hp level ups makes sure he gets more worthwhile stats instead of a paltry 7 hp for a level.

Mario is static until 90-95 where hp is something like 60 per level instead of just 30. And never get any of the 20hp upgrades from his early levels. Invest in matk until he starts getting at least 30, then get some.

Peach I forget if she has any wild stat ups, but later starts getting crazy atk or magic.

Even before I had the op armors, bosses typically either did over 10k, or under 8k. Almost never between that. I mean, I could be wrong and the actual experts recommend full HP, but personally I've been fine in the mid 8000s for the whole postgame.

  9. Regular Shy Aways are in Land's End in the desert section. By the save point and the first set of whirlpools, go to the screen up and left, there are three flying around.

I dunno if Lucky Ring affects drop rate, but try that. Also, are you sure your inventory isn't full? The item comes from the in battle reward screen for those, so if your inventory is filled up, they wont ever drop.
