It's just dependent on having at least 70 FP, not actually doing the sidequest.  There's also a flag check that's probably Smithy.

Do you have the 20 galaxy coins needed to purchase it?

...Nitro said it was Frog Coins. I’ll be right back after I get 20 Galaxy Coins and edit this with results.

    EDIT: Got it! Thanks Doomsday.

You have to go into the Frog Coin shop and leave, (even without buying anything) then they'll prompt you to buy their Armageddon.

Well that isn’t happening. So unless they have to be beaten, I don’t get it.

Beating them in a party is really easy. It's the same deal with Smithy and why I didn't notice he had a barrier. Yes she changes what element she's vulnerable to, but she's ALWAYS vulnerable to neutral magic. Geno Whirl is king here.

Still can’t get Geno Whirl to do any more than 740. Though I’m getting somewhere (I’m mid-battle) using Super Jump.

You can also do neutral physical damage off her physical card throw, physical generic energy balls, Sexy Dance L, Eerie Noise, Mamudoon, and Megidolaon, as long as that attack is the last thing she does in a turn. (Though it has to be neutral, they both heal off of any elemental damage on a neutral turn. Oh, and on the first turn, you can attack with anything, as long as she hasn't attacked herself. Until she does, she's a normal target.)

    Yeah, that part’s already covered.

Single battle, you need to plan out your moves, but some characters are much much easier than others. Doing her early is practically impossible for some chars. As soon as you get the Pillar of Light from her sister, Liz can be beaten handily with Geno as long as you have enough 1UP Mushes. Just Geno Whirl like mad and Flurry/Flame when she does element attacks. Mario with the Soul Dew can pretty much spam Galaxy Blast and win. Mallow needs to be a little clever boy, Koopa too. Peach needs some physical attack since she has no neutral magic. Chaos Grenades help with good timing too.

Alright, I’ll see what I can do. Thanks!

Not really, but the boss rushes will be hell without the armors dropped by Elizabeth. The trick to beating them is to use the opposite element to the one they used last. If the last attack they use is fire, you attack with ice. For attacks that doesn't have elements, you need to do normal attacks. Also, for Elizabeth, you need to remember her attack pattern as it ends with an attack that kills you if you don't have auto-life.

Thanks for the help, but that wasn’t exactly my question. I was saying the Armageddon isn’t showing up, and wondering if the reason why is because they’re not beaten.

You go to the door behind the shop in the mushroom kingdom. I believe you have to select the frog coin shop and then when you get out, the voice will ask if you want a powerful item. I don't remember how much it costs, but it's paid with frog coins.

Do Margaret/Elizabeth need to be defeated? Because it’s not happening with me.

  5. So I also use Mario/Peach/Geno, with Bowser replacing Geno if the enemy is primarily physical. When does Mallow get OP by the way?

So I beat Yiazmat with the Dragon Mail from Kaiser Dragon, then went and faced the Mystery Girl. After a much more brutal battle, I left to find “WAT THEY’RE RANDOM BATTLES NOW?” the Maenads.

I’m going to try to take on the Brachioraidos then go on from there. Thanks everyone!

9999 hp might be overkill? I think I went like 8800-8900 on all of my guys. But yea, if you don't care about order, go ham on wild things and find what''s killable.

I mean, I only got the 9999 HP from the buyable Galaxy Apples. Before that I was at 7900-8k each, except Bowser who was at 7500 around.

I have no idea what the order is exactly, but if you haven't done pokemon yet, they're weaker than the FF bosses and have decently stat'd accessories for specific bosses.

All the Pokemon (including Celebi) are done, but none of the trainers. Having the same issue with them.

General Guy is done. Shadow Queen is done. (Used your strategy, thank you!) Out of the FF bosses, I’ve done Ozma, Shiva, Shinryu, Ultima Weapon, Goddess, Emerald Weapon, Kaiser Dragon (thanks Nitro), Penance, and all of Via Infinito.

Respec'ing your characters for only hp and int might help too. Typically between atk up and enemy def down, they can hit the damage cap pretty easy with 0 atk.

Everyone but Bowser is at 9999.

I'd recommend going around the world looking for some other bosses to face to get some more gear that protects against all elements. Kaiser Dragon in Barrel Volcano might be worth a shot (assuming you didn't already defeat it). Also, I think Crystal Rings resist elements as well, so go to the secret path in the Forest Maze to see if you're allowed to battle Mystery Girl. (I don't remember what you have to do to get access, sorry)

Yeah I can fight Mystery Girl, but she’s one of the problem bosses. Can’t get far if you lose your auto-life on two members every turn.

i’ll see what I can do on Kaiser Dragon though.

  8. So I’ve beaten everything up to that hint, plus the Shadow Queen and Shinryu. From what I’ve heard when looking at threads, Frogfucious helps you when it comes to what’s next in difficulty. The problem is, everything I’ve seen, I can’t beat.

My only usable gear that resists/halves elements is Minerva, which I put on Peach. Everything else that does it also guts my stats to the point of un-usability. And without it, I can’t beat any of the bosses I can think of.

I get OHKO’d by any of the powerful elemental attacks (Inferno, Gigavolt, Blizzard, Almagest, etc.) except for Peach - and Speed Bracer, my only haste-giving item, is on Geno right now.

I don’t have answers to to their attacks, and it’s hard to win when your characters die every turn. What can I do?

Can't think of what you mean here, sorry.

There’s a second “Vault” in the Mushroom Kingdom castle that never opens, at least from what I’ve seen. The first one opens after the first Mack fight, iirc. And I think he’s ahead of me so I can’t answer the question.

  10. 8 hours ago, reiknight said:

Yeah, it's not there. That whole secret section doesn't seem to be.

Found it. Was in the gecko path right before Monstro Town. I think I got it initially but reset to save that item for later. D'oh.

And really, not just Lazy Shell but Speed Bracer and Master Ball? That would have made Celebi so much easier... Or Shadow Queen... Or Elizabeth... Oh well.

So while I was checking every single chest, I took screens of all the hidden ones to upload somewhere. How many were there total? I have 70 screens, but it's possible some were normal chests.

So apparently Celebi doesn’t show up in the Shadow Queen fight. I found that out the hard way. I still can’t beat it actually.

The Master can be found in the castle in the Mushroom Kingdom. If you've been to Daisy's room previously, you'll find The Master on the way.

Alright, thanks! That was enough for me to beat Smithy.

Then my emulator crashed because I’m using a 3DS emulator so I have to do it all over again

But all the stuff helped! Now I know I can do it.

Bomb's Away: Geno's ultimate weapon. You get it by beating Jinx.

Super Jump: An alternate version of the jump special that replaces the jump special while Mario is equipped with the Attack Scarf. You get the Attack Scarf by beating The Master.

Both of these bosses are solo battles, so if you plan to beat them, make sure you're prepared.

So I got Mallow’s Royal Guard and Bombs Away, but I can’t find the Master. Beating Jinx a second time nets 30 Frog Coins, so that’s not it. Where is he? I can do the rest myself. Probably.

  13. 5 hours ago, reiknight said:

Wait, he switches weaknesses? I didn't notice at all as don't think my attacks ever missed once... Though I think I was using bombs away Geno and (super) jump only.

Wait where did you get them? I thought I found everything. Hints work, I don’t think I’ll need a straight answer.

Geno Whirl isn't really the only option, but it's probably the easiest option. The timing is right as it makes contact with the enemy (I could be wrong here, I haven't played in a while). Also, Mallow learns Royal Guard from getting some sweet revenge against a certain lady. Talk to the people of Nimbus Land to get some more clues and then search for high places. I wouldn't use Mallow over Peach personally, but with the right setup, anyone can be viable.

Alright, got it. I’ll see what I can do.

  14. Going to bump this instead of making a new thread of the same scenario.

So I’m at Smithy, and able to make it to the Barrier Shift portion without too much issue. I’ve only successfully gotten to that point in the battle using Mario-Peach-Geno (all-HP level ups). However, once he uses Barrier Shift, I can’t use physical attacks anymore.

I know the concept of what I need to do (I read above), but I have no real method to hurt him afterwards, as all I have that deals some semblance of magic damage is Peach Beam, which is elemental. I also can’t for the life of me figure out the timing for Geno Whirl, which doesn’t help matters.

What do I do? Is Geno Whirl my only option, and how do I use it if so? When does Mallow learn Royal Guard, so maybe I could use him instead of Peach?
