Hello friends this will be my fourth playthrough of this hack over the years and I'm excited to see what the full 2.0 will bring to the table.  I am playing on the extreme difficulty which I believe gives me 50% extra experience.  I don't know if the difficulties actually change the mechanics of the fights or just change the numbers.  I'll do my best to give a brief rundown of how I did the bosses in case anyone is interested.  

    I believe the first boss against the spider has had it's hp reduced from previous versions, which I appreciate.  The fight with the esper is a lot more fun and I am afraid this fight might intimidate new players after they scan it and see a really high number of hp.  Don't fret though I don't believe you actually have to deal that much damage to end the battle.  It's vulnerable to poison, but will cast rippler occasionally to transfer the poison to you, your magitek heal will remove the poison as well as recovering hp so you don't need to use items here.  After you've poisoned it for the third time it will use an ability where it cures it's self of poison and does a large amount of magic damage to the party, this nearly killed me, but I healed up Aurora, and revived my other party members.  Keep your party in the back row at all times and keep up magitek barrier, let the poison do most of the damage and you will eventually trigger the cutscene.  

    Be sure to buy some karma jolts at the castle, and arrange your party members the opposite row as normal since the next fight will be a back attack.  You're against 2 guys in magitek armor, and once one dies the other gets huge buffs so you want to try to kill them as close together as possible.  My tactic was to repeatedly use Serin's tools to confuse them, which will make them attack each other.  Once one breaks the confusion hit the other with Cloud to keep the damage even and repeat. Use Aurora to heal and cast spark on both or one whichever is best to keep their health even.  In the cave I ran from the battles and you have to fight a zombie at the end.  It's not hard but keep in mind that it can zombify your party members, so it's best to keep a few extra karma jolts.  


  2. Can someone give me a hint how to defeat Calofistri?  I can't get past her first life bar.  As best as I can tell I have to get her to a single health, then hit her again to get her to the next health bar, but she counters seemingly everything with drain so I can't get past that threshold.   I could also use some advice against Gogo.  The traditional strategy of doing nothing doesn't seem to work and he has such a large amount of health bars it doesn't seem practical to beat the timer.  Any help is appreciated. 


  3. As for the issue with Faris when she uses an ether on herself she immediately gets another turn with 0 mp and when her turn comes up again she still has 0 mp.  Does not seem to happen if someone else uses the ether on her.  

     

    For the issue with predict it happened to me with Lenna as an oracle against the 8 octopus enemy in the underground cave before the moogle village.

I think I'm clear on everything now except what equipping the correct weapons for your job does.   I am experiencing an issue with Faris as a vampire where having her use an ether on herself causes it to remove mp while other characters using it on her restores it.  I also had an issue once where it let me scroll up and down the predict window even though one is not supposed to be able to do that, and it showed stuff like white and time magic.  Exiting out and then casting a prediction caused a different spell to be cast instead of the prediction. 


  5. I am playing and really enjoying this mod.  I am about to get to the second world.  My only issue is that there are a huge amount of abilities that I'm not clear on what they do.  Reading this topic has helped quite a bit but still I'm not sure how to best uitlize Lord, Oracle, and Magus, or Dark Knight to their full potential.  Is there a database of all this information that I might be missing?  I also am not sure how to learn new abilities with Tinker.

I suppose I missed MP absorb.  Since I enjoyed playing it so much before I just started a new game.  In both my previous games Comet 2 was by far the most damage i could get out of a turn in most cases, so I like to link one with MP absorb and 1 with MP turbo.  Besides the absorb materias are there any significant missables I should watch out for on this playthrough?  With Tifa and Cid does one get more overall dps from physical attacks from a raw strength or a high luck build?  I really appreciate everyone's time and help!
