There have been updates, yes. DK has revealed that he is working on v9.1, which contains a few new features. Doomsday has also predicted that 9.1 will also get multiple difficulties.

It's however not known at this point if there will still be a hard mode for the current version, we'll just have to wait and see.

You need to go to where the dinosaurs are in the forest maze. You might just get ambushed by celebi if you're lucky. Try to get a master ball though, celebi is tough

It's not necessary, but I see many people use him. How you play is obviously up to you, I was just surprised.

The first Riot Blade happens when Terra transforms into her esper form. The rest happens after a hidden counter reaches 10. The counter increases by 1 every time she is attacked and at the start of her turn. If she has 9 and she gets her turn, it increases to 10 and Riot Blade is used. Know this and you should be fine. Her human form has 10 lives btw, and her esper form has 15. (assuming it's normal mode)

Most likely not as the fight will be different to be more focused on Rosalina. It's still anybody's guess though.

CS2Magus has beaten Rosalina without using haste OR apples, and is doing it AGAIN to catch it on video. Saying this both to answer a question and to promote the god of this hack.

Not really, but the boss rushes will be hell without the armors dropped by Elizabeth. The trick to beating them is to use the opposite element to the one they used last. If the last attack they use is fire, you attack with ice. For attacks that doesn't have elements, you need to do normal attacks. Also, for Elizabeth, you need to remember her attack pattern as it ends with an attack that kills you if you don't have auto-life.

You go to the door behind the shop in the mushroom kingdom. I believe you have to select the frog coin shop and then when you get out, the voice will ask if you want a powerful item. I don't remember how much it costs, but it's paid with frog coins.

I get OHKO’d by any of the powerful elemental attacks (Inferno, Gigavolt, Blizzard, Almagest, etc.) except for Peach - and Speed Bracer, my only haste-giving item, is on Geno right now.

I don’t have answers to to their attacks, and it’s hard to win when your characters die every turn. What can I do?

I'd recommend going around the world looking for some other bosses to face to get some more gear that protects against all elements. Kaiser Dragon in Barrel Volcano might be worth a shot (assuming you didn't already defeat it). Also, I think Crystal Rings resist elements as well, so go to the secret path in the Forest Maze to see if you're allowed to battle Mystery Girl. (I don't remember what you have to do to get access, sorry)

The items restock after being removed from your inventory. You can have 2 dark matters and 1 armageddon at one time.
